Manuela Beltrán Hospital is one of Santander’s largest and most advanced second-level healthcare institutions, serving Bucaramanga and surrounding municipalities.
The hospital provides primary and specialized care for thousands of patients monthly through a network of outpatient and inpatient services, supported by a strong commitment to digital transformation and interoperability.
The Chalange
Before working with Tagnara, the hospital faced growing operational complexity due to the lack of a centralized information system. Each department — scheduling, pharmacy, emergency, HR, and billing — worked in isolation, generating duplicate records, manual errors, and delays in service.
The absence of interoperability across clinical systems caused serious issues: medical staff couldn’t easily access complete patient histories, appointments were managed separately per unit, and reports for insurers (EPS) required days of manual work.
As one of the region’s largest second-level hospitals, leadership needed an integrated digital health ecosystem capable of connecting every unit and ensuring HL7-compliant data exchange across its entire care network.
What did
Tagnara do
Tagnara designed and implemented a comprehensive ERP + HIS solution built on modern architecture, merging administrative and clinical operations into a single unified platform.
The deployment included:
A centralized scheduling system connecting the hospital’s main site with municipal primary care centers.
Full Electronic Health Record (EHR) functionality for outpatient, inpatient, emergency, and pharmacy workflows.
HL7/FHIR interoperability enabling seamless exchange of patient and clinical data with national systems.
In-hospital pharmacy automation, ensuring safe dispensing and traceability of medications.
Payroll, HR, and shift control modules for complete management of medical and administrative personnel.
Billing automation for insurance claims, reducing manual errors and accelerating payment cycles.
Tagnara also digitized documentation workflows, providing the hospital with a fully paperless environment and faster decision-making processes through integrated dashboards and analytics.
The Results
- Centralized scheduling across the entire regional healthcare network
- 100% unified clinical and administrative data
- 60% faster billing cycles to insurers
- 45% reduction in patient waiting time for appointments
- Full interoperability with HL7/FHIR standards
